Interestingly not with this shot.
The effect was achieved by hand holding two separate speedlights one with a 'purple' gel and one with a 'blue' gel on it.
The timing was a little difficult - I only have two hands, so setting off the drop timer, picking up the speedlights and getting them in a good position wasn't easy... particularly since it was in absolute darkness :)

They were held low to the water and facing each other.
As you can see, the purple overpowered the blue somewhat, but created this really nice effect.

haha so nice it looks like uv lights man! id love to have the stuff for this type of fotography.. becasue im really interested, and ive been a photographer for roughly three years.. i got a laser recently for my photographic experiments
